Caves São Domingos awarded the prize Melhor Produtor de Vinhos Efervescentes (Best Producer of Effervescent Wines)

Aníbal Coutinho, oenologist and wine critic, announced the winners of the W 2011 Prizes during an online event that took place last 14th January.
Among the 18 categories under contest, some names associated with the Bairrada region are appearing either as winners or nominees
The Caves do Solar de São Domingos won in the category Best Producer of Effervescent Wines". Anibal Coutinho was impressed in 2011 with the quality of several sparkling wines always with very good prices and, above all, with some surprises at the top range. He ended up by congratulating the young oenology team.
"TRePA" from Luís Pato on the top of the 100 best wines sold in the Asian market

"TRePa tinto 2007" was considered one of the best wines sold in the Asian market. The prize will be awarded following the contest "Ruby Award Top 100 Wines in China 2011", promoted by the Magazine Wine in China.
The jury, composed by a panel of international critics, was surprised with this blend of Douro (Quinta da Pôpa) and Bairrada (Luís Pato) giving it 89 points.
The "TRePA tinto 2007" is the fulfillment of a dream by Luís Pato, oenologist from Quinta da Pôpa, to combine grapes from Douro and Bairrada. It is the result of a blend from Tinta Roriz and the powerful Baga from Vinha Pan. It joins together the strong youth aromas from the Douro variety with the tannic acid structure of a grape variety grown in an Atlantic climate. Thus emerges a wine ready for consume and simultaneously presenting a great aging capacity.
