The soils most suitable for the vine, are the typical "mud, clay soils with more or less content of calcium, which creates the best grapes for wine of superior quality.
Cross by a network of small rivers, the Certima, the Levira which is tributary of the former, the Águeda the Bocoa and Varziela, the region encompasses a number of varied terrain ranging from Triassic to Plio-plistocénico, to the lower Jurassic, medium and sandstone.
