PresentationComissão Vitivinícola da Bairrada is an entity responsible for promoting and controlling the quality of wines, promoting the Bairrada region and defending its members' interests.

Created on April 1, 1979, the Comissão Vitivinícola da Bairrada is an interprofessional association that operates in a geographical area that includes the DO Bairrada, the IG Beira Atlântico and the Terras de Sicó sub-region.

It currently has 90 members, including cooperative wineries, producers, bottlers and winegrowers, and its main objectives are to certify the wines of the region under its jurisdiction, inspecting viticultural techniques and winemaking processes, and promoting and publicizing these same products.

Responsible for ensuring the Denomination of Origin Bairrada as a guarantee of respect, quality and authenticity of DO Bairrada and IG Beira Atlântico wines, transmitting security and trust to consumers, it is also responsible for selling guarantee seals for approved wines.

It works towards the success of the Bairrada region, and has been developing several strategies to promote the region both nationally and internationally, participating and promoting markets and events and supporting technical and scientific actions.
